But in what terms are we discussing victory? With God, where our victory is through are own defeat and dependence on him. Or a prize fight where our victory is the domination of our opponent. Or yet still, women; in which our victory comes from obtaining/wooing/what not of the opposite sex, yet leads to us being bound to them...

The definition was presuming the victory which belongs to the worldly system. Excluding, for the moment, the higher victory which we can strive for through our submittion, death, and rebirth in Christ; Women and the prize fight are both victories of possession leaving beside their various characteristics. In the prize fight the victory is fighting for a prize and to achieve this end must dominate. I would not dare compare marriage to the obtaining of victory. Where the man seeks a prize and domination is the result. No honestly, I'm not that dark, gaining a women morally is not a victory but rather the decision to love a women and her active submissive responce to that love. Victory is actually just over other men when it comes to wooing women. How well you stand up to other men and can outdo them is the only part of love which makes them victorious. For example if a man wins over a women and then chooses to get rid of her, that man will always feel a superiority over the next boyfriend of the girl, though it is a pathetically silly superiority. Well I did not really come to why in victory man is defeated but it is really one of those hiddin humourous things anyway.
